Inspection and monitoring across various industries in the Province of Turin, including pharmaceutical, chemical, food, and metallurgical sectors, to verify compliance of production and wastewater treatment plants with environmental regulations. This process involves collecting industrial wastewater samples for laboratory analysis, which includes the detection of PFAS using high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS), the identification of metals such as aluminum and zinc using ICP-MS, and chloride analysis through titration with silver nitrate. In cases where legal thresholds are exceeded, administrative sanctions are applied.

Analysis of samples of various matrices, including soil, using gravimetric analysis and gas chromatography for the detection of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in soil, as well as phenols in sludge. Additionally, flame ionization detection gas chromatography (FID) was employed to analyze minerals in sludge. For water samples, to search metals it was used the ICP-MS following the EPA 6020B method, determination of chlorides via titration with silver nitrate, and nitrogen analysis through atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) to detect even low concentrations in water.
