- Teaching the whole range of classes throughout the Secondary School, at BGE and senior levels: French, Spanish and Italian.
- Developing resources, preparing and conducting assessments at BGE and senior levels: schemes of work, worksheets, PPTs, online quizzes, Microsoft Forms.
- Assessed student progress regularly using formative and summative assessments to ensure appropriate instructional strategies were applied.
- Taught exam classes in 3 languages at all levels: National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher (equivalent of GCSE -foundation and higher- and A-levels)
- Introduced Italian in our school, at National 4, National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher levels.
- Improved uptake of students choosing languages at senior level by offering another language, offering supported studies and offering my expertise and experience with SQA to help pupils better prepare for final exams.
- In charge of the 1+2 policy within the Leith learning community: supporting input of French and Spanish at primary level.
- Developed resources for language input in primary schools and offered support to these schools as part of the 1+2 policy.
- Organised languages events (French/ Spanish cafe, Languages Fayre, Primary transition visits) for primary 7 pupils.
- Launched the Languages Ambassadors programme in our learning community: group of S6 pupils, who either learn languages in school or come from bilingual families, support the school and the community primary schools by organizing cultural events and offering their help to languages classes in primary/ BGE classes.
- Collaborated with other teachers to create interdisciplinary units, reinforcing connections between world languages and other subjects: "crepe day" with Home Economics, "school of football" with Physical Education.
- Participated in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in world language education and incorporate new techniques into teaching strategies.
