As a volunteer care assistant, I provided support and assistance to individuals who needed help with their daily activities due to age, illness, disability, or other circumstances. Here's a description of the duties and the things I got to do:

1. **Personal Care:** Assisted individuals with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting. Then I made sure the person I was caring for felt comfortable and dignified during these tasks.

2. **Mobility Support:** Helped individuals with limited mobility move around. This could involve assisting with walking, transferring from bed to a wheelchair, or using other mobility aids.

3. **Meal Preparation:** I prepared meals and ensured that the person I cared for was well-fed and hydrated. They may also help with feeding if necessary.

4. **Medication Reminders:** Depending on the situation, I would have to remind individuals to take their medications at the appropriate times.

5. **Companionship:** Provided companionship and emotional support, which was an essential aspect of the role. I volunteered and spent time talking, listening, and engaging in activities with the individuals I cared for to combat loneliness and isolation.

6. **Assistance with Activities:** Made the individuals engage in activities that promoted mental and physical stimulation, such as reading, playing games, going for walks, or doing light exercises.

7. **Light Housekeeping:** Volunteered with light housekeeping tasks, such as tidying up the living space, doing laundry, or ensuring a safe and clean environment.

8. **Transportation:** Also provided transportation to medical appointments and helped individuals run errands.
