- Care for a couple, providing compassionate night care and adapting action to the individual needs of that day, whilst striving to improve patient comfort and mental wellbeing.
- Night time routine of washing and changing of attire before bed, medication when needed.
- Support throughout the night with the couples differing stages of the disease, the wanderings, hallucinations, frustrations and anger. I would housekeep and iron during sleeping bouts.
- Maintain patience and discretion while supporting vulnerable individuals at the worst and scariest part of their day.
COPD CARE

- Caring for a gentleman who had chronic lung disease and needed regular visits during the day. Duties involved making him comfortable as he had no fat on his body, making food to get calories and fibre into him also high protein to keep his tract moving quickly as he was inactive.
- Putting services in place, like hospital bed in the lounge, oxygen tanks and a weekly nurse visit. Sorting his admin and his medication. Bed / sofa washing and lifting to the commode.
LIVE IN PALLIATIVE CARER

- Working in a team of 2 to cover days and waking nights for a 90% bedbound lady. We spent a lot of time with our lady talking, reading to her and watching documentaries and films.
- Bed baths and hoisting to the commode and also daily chair exercises. We cooked nutritious meals being very aware of the problems of no activity on the body and the intestinal tract.
- I enjoyed our time together very much and listening to her stories of war time Paris. We also looked after visiting family at weekends and longer periods when visiting from the UK.
