The Business Team Leader is responsible for the overall performance of part of the refinery assets within their operational sector, including safety, availability, and costs.

• Leads a multidisciplinary team to achieve performance goals, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and improve production quality.
• Manages budgets, communicates effectively within the organization, and supports team development and training.
• Ensures the service continuous operation, validates procedures, and oversees unit shutdown operations.

• From 2023: In direct charge of 110 people and 11 M€ yearly budget to operate 2 HDS, 2 amine, 3 sulfur units, one continuous regenerating reformer unit, including front end gasoline HDT plant, one highly integrated crude and vacuum unit, including gas, gasoline separation and kero merox plants, one visbreaker unit and H2 refinery network.
• 2021 – 2023: In direct charge of 70 people and 7 M€ yearly budget to operate 2 HDS; 2 amine and 3 sulfur units, refinery and network utilities such as steam and BFW production, waste water and cooling water plants, electricity network, etc.

In charge of the process section within the refinery operation department. Supervision, management and coaching of a team of 5 engineers and 5 technicians covering the process aspects of the entire refinery including production units and offsites, Advanced process Control section and energy management as the plant energy efficiency sponsor. The process section objective and focus is to organize, help and supervise allocated resources to :

• Provide close unit monitoring to enable precise performances assessment, performances deviations detection and bottlenecks identification
• Contribute with other services (both internal and external to the refinery) to the continuous improvement of units availability and reliability
• Participate to the units technical and economical optimization by running units at their constraints, maximizing energy efficiency and reducing operation cost
• Propose or participate in studies or projects mostly for energy efficiency improvement, units debottlenecking, new specifications compliance, Advanced process Control and digital applications
• Provide active and effective support for scope preparation and follow-up of unit shutdowns and major Turn arounds
• Integrate HSE issues and problems in all aspects of our support function, with a specific emphasis on bringing technical and process expertise to the refinery HSE department
• Capitalize on the internal process know-how and sharing best practices with other refinery and central functions, through industrial networks.

In charge of all front end process studies for FCC (Fluidized Catalytic Cracking) converter sections revamping projects within TOTAL group.

• In direct contact with refineries, define the best options to modernize existing assets to either improve performances, reliability and profits or meet environmental regulations.
• The front end part of the project requires iterations and interactions with refineries, global strategy and planning divisions to define the most suitable and profitable project.
• Once project scope defined, follow-up of process studies performed internally or sub-contracted to engineering companies.
• Involved since 2003 in industrial and R&D activities together with our commercial and research partners of the FCC alliance (Axens, IFP, Technip, Total), close collaboration with our research group and partners to develop and follow experimental and research programs for innovative solutions.

Experience exchange program between TOTAL and Shaw S&W companies, as part of the FCC alliance program.

• Design Engineering for converter section equipment of Fluidized Catalytic Crackers (DCC, FCC, Resid FCC) both for revamps and grassroots units.

Responsible for the pilot plant studies and research in FCC process. In charge of a team of four technicians and several pilot plant facilities.

• Catalyst evaluation, FCC process studies, technical assistance to refineries, long term research in collaboration with universities and other industrial partners.

Responsible for the Heat Transfer and Fouling Section within the Chemical Engineering department in charge of studies dealing with

• Heat Transfer equipment design, heat transfer optimization and improvement, fouling mitigation techniques evaluation, fouling mechanism identification, technical assistance to refineries, long term research with universities and other industrial partners.

Construction and operation of a lab-rig (20l capacity) for the fabrication of highly concentrated polymer modified bitumen as part of a research program for French military duty.
