I have worked for thirty years in the I.T. industry and have extensive technical and client-facing skills.
I have a proven track record with several large computer companies specialising in malware threat research, technical support and software engineering.
Since leaving Sophos I have been living in Brittany, France and teaching English first to adult learners at a software college and now to children, teenagers and adults as a homestay host.
I am adept at motivating adult learners and creating engaging business-specific lessons.
I would say that, aside from decades of personal experience of learning other languages (French and Italian), my main assets are my boundless enthusiasm and excellent people skills.
My role was to reverse engineer computer malware samples, determine their purpose and write code to detect and block them.
I also analysed email samples and wrote RexEx code to detect and block spam, phishing and other harmful emails.
My specialty was banking malware and phishing emails.
I trained and mentored other members of the company to fulfill these roles.
I wrote technical training documents for the company's Wiki pages..
I am also an avid reader, a prolific writer and an occasional proofreader specialising in Nordic Noir and translated novels.
I also care for two rescued equines - one Icelandic horse and one Shetland pony.
