Work History

Researcher

Voices Of Mytiline
01.2023 - Current

I gather and organize information for a podcast that's mainly focused on the experiences of migrants coming to Lesvos.

Topics explored so far include arbitrary criminalization of migrants by Greek authorities, the construction of a new migrant camp on Lesvos, and the criminal trials of the Moria 35.

Volunteer

No Borders Kitchen
08.2019 - Current

I've volunteered at No Borders Kitchen Lesvos for a total of around 6 months since 2019.

This frequently involves interviews with migrants to discuss their asylum status and direct them towards relevant support. I have gained a reasonable understanding of asylum procedures as a result.

Fieldwork Researcher

Foundation For Human Rights Initiative
09.2015 - 01.2016

I visited different prisons throughout greater Kampala on a weekly basis to interview inmates and prison officers.

Based on these interviews, I wrote reports for each facility detailing how the Ugandan government is neither fulfilling its obligations to prisoners under domestic law, nor under the UN Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners.
