My name is Paris Thasitis, born in Thessaloniki, Greece’s second-largest city. While I completed most of my schooling in Greece, I also attended a Greek high school in Egypt during my teenage years. This experience immersed me in a culturally rich environment, fostering my appreciation for the coexistence of diverse cultures and religions.
I am a qualified lawyer, admitted to the Athens Bar, with a strong passion for energy-related issues and a clear focus on building a career specialized in the energy sector. Holding a Master’s degree in Environmental Law, I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Energy Management and Sustainable Development at the University of Strasbourg for the 2024-2025 academic year.
As part of my studies, I am engaged in a research project within the CO₂ Inno program, led by CNRS and the University of Strasbourg. My work centers on the redevelopment of nuclear sites after their decommissioning, with a special focus on the former Fessenheim power plant. This research explores the potential for transforming such sites into carbon-neutral hubs, drawing comparisons with practices in the USA, UK, Germany, and France.
Additionally, I am involved in the ETENA project, which focuses on the energy transition of Domaine Alpha, a premier certified vineyard in Northern Greece, through biogas integration. My responsibilities include conducting legal and technical analyses of regulatory frameworks for renewable energy and sustainable agriculture, as well as assessing the feasibility of decarbonizing wine production processes.
Furthermore, I have developed solid expertise in economic and legal research and data analysis, gained through my work as an analyst and columnist.
